, made up of brothers Andre (born April 4, 1974), Brian (born December 14, 1975), Christopher (born April 30, 1973), and Jason Dalyrimple (born May 10, 1980). The group is best known for its three albums and various singles released in the 1990s.
and released their debut album Candy Rain on March 28, 1995. Produced by Heavy D, Candy Rains first single was the album's title track. The song hit #1 on the Billboard

and peaked at #2 on the Hot 100 chart

Soul for Real's second album, For Life
, was produced by Sean Combs
and released on September 24, 1996. The album peaked at #119 on the Billboard 200
, and the album's second single "Love You So" peaked at #64 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs in 1997.
The group moved to independent label Chrome Dome Records for their third album, Heat. After a distribution deal with Tommy Boy Music
fell through, Warlock Records
took over distribution and released the album on May 18, 1999. The album failed to chart.
In 2000, popular Houston, Texas-based hip-hop and rap artist E.S.G.
(Cedric Hill) released the album City Under Siege which included the track "Grippin' Grain" (featuring Slim Thug
and DeShawn Hill). With different lyrics, the chorus in ESG's "Grippin' Grain" borrowed the catchy music and melody from the chorus of Soul for Real's immensely popular "Candy Rain" track released five years earlier.
In 2007, Soul for Real formed their own label, Aljoba Music Group (AMG), and began work on their fourth studio album tentatively entitled The Unknown. The single "One Man" (featuring Jadakiss
) was released in 2008. The album title has been changed to "Journey".
