, which allowed those without the academic capabilities required to do 3 A-levels to stay at South Hunsley and thus boost the number of students and therefore the school's budget, South Hunsley was forced to leave the consortium. This has led to a decrease in the variety of choice of A-levels for the students since many were only offered by the consortium.

Overview
South Hunsley is currently a specialist Technology college. The school also has brand new public sporting facilities including a swimming pool, gymnasium and a 3G football pitch. In 2007, 69% of pupils gained 5 grade A-C GCSEs including English and Maths, the best for state schools in the entire East Riding of Yorkshire, with almost 2000 students.Riding
Is the second biggest building in the school and has two towers, both mainly French and Maths. Biology labs are situated downstairs, Riding also exploits an old music block based to the right of the building which is being extended by the building of a media recording suit to bring in potential for a media studies course at A level is currently taking place. There is a large hall, gym and also canteen also situated in Riding. For the start of the 07/08 year, the canteen was refurbished. The hall has recently been refurbished to include state of the art live performance facilities and also there is a Drama Studio on the first floor. In 2009 the Languages and English department swapped buildings the English department is now found in Humber. There are four floors in each tower.Kingston
Is the largest building which has Geography, History, Religious studies, IT, Science labs, and also an Art & Photography department.Eastdale
Has English and Business classrooms. It also features a computer room and the Departmental Unit for which pupils who have been badly behaved are sent. As of late 2008/09 the school intend on relocating the English class rooms and fully refurbishing the block into state of the art business and economics building.Sport Centre
Sport Department, with facilities such as a 3G football pitch (outdoor), gym, swimming pool, rock climbing and caving wall, and a large hall for racquet sports, volleyball, 5-a-side soccer, basketball, and indoor cricket. The hall also boasts a state of the art dance studio, and rooms for education. The sports centre also provides high standard changing facilities, and cafe/reception area, with vending machines throughout the centre. As the centre is now public however, use by students is somewhat limited.Tech Block
Home of Technology. This building provides facilities for Textile Products, Resistant Materials, Graphic Products and Systems. The building also provides a computer facility, and CAD CAM technologies.Humber
Has English Department, and a medium sized hall area. Humber also houses the learning support & disabilities department for the school. As of June 2008 the Eric fell learning resource centre (Library) was relocated back to this building to make room for the 6th form work room in the LLC.Lifelong Learning Centre (LLC)
Home of the Sixth form college with the Keith Chisholme learning resource centre (sixth form computer area), classrooms, and Cafe. The LLC is very disability friendly with lifts and ramps. Bus travel
Where there is sufficient transport available for all students, the prices on majority of the routes are charged at a very high price. A return ticket for a child between Elloughton and Brough is just under £2 for less than 2 miles.
