The silver and the blue.
We always will remember
The home we found in you.
We faced the tasks you gave us
In triumph and defeat.
O South Lafourche, to you
We pledge our loyalty.
(Words by Edea Pitre Baldwin, class of 1969)
Famous blue tarpons always flying high.
We've got the team, and we've got the pep.
We figure whenever we're down and out,
The only way is up and shouting.
We are the big team flying high.
Don't look away boys, take a tip from us.
We're a little bit new on the field, you know,
But we've got the will to win,
So look out boys here we come! Hey!

The storyline here is simple: Southern Lafourche natives think the parish's biggest town (Thibodaux) gets all the attention in both parish politics and athletics. Thibodaux natives think South Lafourche fans are uneducated whiners. It's a big brother/little brother rivalry that is fierce both on the field and off with fans going back and forth all season.
