. The population was 351 at the 2010 census. Early in its history, South Versailles contained three villages known as Coulter[ville], Emblem, and Osceola.

There were 151 households out of which 23.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.3% were married couples
living together, 11.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 29.1% were non-families. 26.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 14.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.32 and the average family size was 2.81.
In the township the population was spread out with 18.8% under the age of 18, 6.6% from 18 to 24, 23.1% from 25 to 44, 25.4% from 45 to 64, and 26.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 46 years. For every 100 females there were 98.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 97.9 males.
