South Fort Myers High School is a high school in the South Zone specializing in five academic programs: Medical Academy, Vet Academy, Firefighting Academy, Engineering Academy, Construction, Automotive, Finance, Journalism, TV Production, Marketing and Criminal Justice Academy. It is the newest school in Lee County and was built in 2005. This was the first school in Lee County to start with all 4 school grades. South Fort Myers has AP programs, foreign language classes including French, Spanish and German, and a large English as a Second Language program. Students receive college credit if they stay in an academy for consecutive three years.The school always receives a top score in the Florida grading system, usually in the top 5 for Lee County (FL) High Schools.

SFMHS is in the top 8% of JROTC programs through-out the nation and the largest in Lee County. Out of our total school enrollment of 1600 students, we have 400 enrolled in Leadership.
