History

The competition was founded in 1920 by G.Somerville as an alternative to the Southend & District League. In the competition's 87 year history, there have only been 5 Chairmen. Current Chairman is Gary White, who is also Secretary of Southend Collegians FC. He replaced Len Forge OBE who emigrated to France in 2004 after giving over 50 years service to the League both as Chairman and Secretary. The current Secretary is Tina Smith, who is also a Group Representative at the Essex County Football Association.
