Southern Express is an American company providing local and long-distance charter bus services and related passenger transportation services. Based in the Raleigh/Durham area of North Carolina, they provide transportation service to the region’s multiple colleges, universities, and major businesses at the renowned Research Triangle Park.
The company was founded in 2009 by an experienced local management team led by Bruce Bechard and Vance Hoover. Bechard had most recently been Vice President and General Manager of Southern Coach Company, and has held various positions with Southern Coach, Coach America, American Coach Lines, Coach USA, Tour America, Arrow Line and Longueuil Transportation during his 30+ years in the motorcoach industry. Hoover’s background includes key operations positions with Coach America, Southern Coach Company, American Coach Lines, Coach USA, Hoover Trucking as well as time with North Carolina DOT.

S-417 motor coaches manufactured by Mercedes Benz in Germany. All vehicles in the fleet feature plush seating, flush lavatory, Wi-Fi service, electrical ports, and chilled beverage service.
