Activities
The Southridge Marching Ensemble placed 1st in the Open class of the Northwest Marching Band Circuit (NWMBC) in 2007, 2008 and in 2009.SIMDE
Southridge Instrumental Music and Dance Ensembles is the organization that manages and coordinates the instrumental music and dance components of the Fine Arts program at Southridge High School. SIMDE currently coordinates the following programs: Concert Band, Wind Ensemble, Marching Band, Jazz Ensemble, Basketball Band, Percussion Ensemble, Winter Percussion, Musical Pit Orchestra, and various Dance and Guard Ensembles. The most notable of these programs are the Wind Ensemble and the Marching band. The Wind Ensemble has placed top three in State championships for the past 4 years, despite undergoing multiple changes in the leadership of the program. The Marching Band participants undergo extensive training, sometimes beginning in 6th, 7th, or 8th grade, including a rigorous 2-week band camp in August to prepare for the marching band season.The Director of Bands position is currently held by Jeremy Zander.
