Space Coast Crew
Encyclopedia
Space Coast Crew is a youth rowing club established during the summer of 1996. It draws rowers form the local schools, that are in grades 9-12. Their boathouse is located at Oars and Paddles park in Indian Harbor Beach, Florida
. They row on the Banana River
between the Eau Gallie and Pineda Causeways. SCC is part of the Florida State Rowing Association.
Crew was formed in the school year of 1989-90 and Eau Gallie High School Crew was formed in the school year of 1993-94. Eau Gallie and Satellite teams combined to form Space Coast Crew in the school year of 1996-97. Melbourne Central Catholic students joined SCC in the school year of 1997-98. West Shore students joined in the school year of 1998-99. Florida Air Academy and Palm Bay students joined in the school year of 2001-2002. Holy Trinity Academy students joined in the school year of 2002-2003. Cocoa Beach students joined in the school year of 2003-2004. In the 2006-2007 Viera High School sent students to join as rowers.
