Athletics

Sparks High School competes in the NIAA 3A North Division. Sparks High School has seen had good athletic performances in different sports in the past few years. SHS's boys soccer team has qualifies almost every year to playoffs. In both 2009 and in 2010, the boys varsity soccer team has made it to the Nevada state 3A soccer finals. In both occasions, the railroaders have been defeated, and they have become state runner-up two years in a row. In 2010, the boys basketball team won the state 3A championship.
Sparks high school's girls golf team has a fantastic tradition with sending at least one woman to state every year!
