History

The company was known as Spartan-Redheugh, part of the Firth Group (North East of England), until 2001, when Gruppo Malacalza of Italy bought the steel manufacture site and set up a new company named Spartan UK.
In February 2008, Malacalza sold Spartan UK & Trametal Spa to Metinvest
