The Spring Bolt is specifically designed to fasten handrails together and newel posts to a deck when building staircases. This fastener cuts the time and required skill level of the assembler in half. It consists of two springs with a screw attached at one end of each spring and a metal bolt that is used as a guide. Once the springs are screwed into the end of a section of handrail you drop the bolt into one end of handrail section and twist the sections together. This creates tension or a clamping effect. The Spring Bolt has passed engineering load bearing tests with flying colors and therefore is deemed safe and truly effective.
