Srijato Bandopadhyay is a popular poet of the Bengali
younger generation. He won the Ananda Puroskar in 2004 for his book Udanta Sawb Joker: All Those Flying Jokers. He has also attended a writer's workshop at the University of Iowa.
Srijato, an ex-student of jadavpur vidyapith, now lives in Garia
, a suburb in southern Kolkata, with his wife Durba, worked as journalist earlier and now he is in the editorial board of the little magazine "Jaroori Abastha".
Srijato is the grandchild of legendary classical singer Sangeetacharya Tarapado Chakroborty and nephew of Great Maestro Musician and the Khalifa of Kotali Gharana Pandit Manas Chakroborty, his mother is also a reputed classical singer Gaan Saraswati Srila Bandopadhyay.
