Stan Calvert Cup

The Stan Calvert Cup, formally known as the Stan Calvert Memorial Cup, sometimes referred to as the Stan Calvert sports day, is an annual contest that takes place between Newcastle University and Northumbria University
formerly in December, now in February.
The competition does not take place in a single sporting event but rather over 40 teams compete against each other in 22 different sports, the winning university is determined by whose team won the most events. The competition has taken place every year since its formation in 1994.

Since 1994 Newcastle has won the cup 11 times and Northumbria has won 5 times. There have also been 2 draws. In 2011 Team Newcastle ensured the Stan Calvert Memorial Trophy was retained for an unprecedented 4th consecutive year with 96.25 points to 60.75 victory against rivals Northumbria.Year | Winner |
