Star Academy is the place where 14 young singers pass a difficult, dynamic, interesting and obstacle-ridden path to the career of a successful singer and becoming a real star. The most important thing in the Star Academy is the same as in real show business: to create a successful show, hit which will be liked not only by critics and jury; it should be really successful commercially. You will never see constrained shy singers at the microphone here. Prepare to enjoy complete musical shows with vocal, complex choreographic and other elements of commercial show. You will follow the participants while they are preparing to face the weekly show. The best from the best will be chosen in the Academy during 12 weeks. The project ends with a Final show which will reveal the real star of the Georgian show business.

The Star Academy is a unique format which unites two most popular brands: reality show and concert show. Reality show: 12 participants live in a flat located at the territory of the Star Academy. They work and rehearse in the nearby studios. You will follow professional life of the young singers, the most interesting moments of the difficult and intensive rehearsals. You will see their progress and professional improvements. As the young singers work and live together you will watch their private lives: friendship, competition and intrigues. Every day except Sundays the audience will see 35/40 minute series prepared in reality show genre showing professional and private lives of the Star Academy participants.

Concert Show: at the end of every week's prime time show (duration min. 90 minutes) will be aired live. The participants will sing the song they've prepared and the jury chooses four candidates to be eliminated. One of them can be saved by producer group, the another by the participants. The third one is saved by the audience which votes for its favourites during the week (sending SMS and calling).

Season 1

Season 1 of the Georgian Star Academy had high ratings in Georgian television. Promotions by producers made watching the show worthwhile and it proved to be memorable to the people.

Season 2

The second season debuted on Monday March 9, 2009, but was abandoned out of respect to crewmen killed after the Star Academy building collapsed April 26, 2009.
