. Then in 1917 the east-west part of SR 933 became Indiana State Road 2 and the north-south became Indiana State Road 1. In 1920, Indiana State Road 2 was rerouted to the current U.S. Route 30
. When Indiana State Road 2 was rerouted the route became Indiana State Route 46. In 1926, U.S. Route 31 replaced Indiana State Road 1 on this route. Then in 1935, US 33 was commissioned in Indiana. Then in 1982, US 31 was moved to the St. Joseph Valley Parkway and the route was renamed Business US 31. The SR 933 designation was created in April 1998, when US 33 was decommissioned north of US 20 and Business US 31 was decommissioned.
