Dailly was born, brought up and educated in Dundee, where she attended Harris Academy
, obtained an MA for English and Psychology at the University of Dundee
and completed a course in professional writing at Dundee College
. She joined Dundee radio station Radio Tay
as a trainee Reporter and within a year, became the station's Deputy Head of News.
Dailly joined STV North (then known as Grampian Television
) in February 2003 as a production journalist in Aberdeen and later progressed to become a sports correspondent, working alongside Tyrone Smith. Dailly now works between STV North's studios in Dundee and Aberdeen.
