Stefano Tempesti (born 9 June 1979) is an Italian water polo
player.
Tempesti was born in Prato
, and plays as goalkeeper. He started his career in his hometown's Futura Prato, before moving to Rari Nantes Florentia, where he remained until 2003, when he started playing for his current team, Pro Recco
. With Florentia he won a LEN Cup Winners' Cup
in 2001, while with Pro Recco he won four consecutive national titles and three LEN Euroleague
s (2007, 2008 and 2010).
He debuted for the Italian national team in 1999. He won the silver medal at the 2003 World Aquatics Championships
and a gold medal in the 2011 World Aquatics Championships
in Shanghai
. In the last tournament, he was also elected as Best Goalkeeper, an award he had also received in the previous edition
