Paysage d'Hiver is an ambient black metal band from Berne, Switzerland, formed in 1997. Sole member is Tobias Möckl a.k.a. "Wintherr", also of Darkspace. Paysage d'Hiver is french and translates to "Landscape of Winter", winter being the lyrical theme for most of Paysage d'Hiver's songs...

. The word "steineiche" translates from German into English as the word "holly oak", which is exactly what this album is themed about. The track titles translate to "The Tree Women", "The Tree Man", and "The Tree".

This album was limited to 500 copies worldwide on the label Kunsthall Produktionen. This was the only first-version release of all of the Paysage D'Hiver
