Faculty and Programs of Study

The faculty of Stephen Foster Middle School is currently led by Principal Darin Schmidt, as well as Vice Principal Ronald Caine and Dean of Students Trisha Cook. Foster currently has 47 full-time faculty members, as well as 5 members of the office staff, and numerous support staff and paraprofessionals. Faculty members are typically divided into teams - language arts, mathematics, social studies, science, electives, special education, and reading. The reading team is specifically designed to enhance the skills acquired in the language arts classroom. Students with low reading test scores are placed - in substitution of one of their two electives - in a Reading Enrichment classroom.

Special events

Foster hosts numerous special events throughout the school year, including a Community Bingo Night every February, a Winter Fine Arts Showcase featuring students in the instrumental and vocal music programs, as well as art and drama, and the All-TPS Band and Choral Festivals every April or May.
