) is a former professional American football
who played in the National Football League
for the Detroit Lions
(1982–1984) and the New England Patriots

He was a 3rd round selection (69th overall) of the 1982 NFL Draft
by the Detroit Lions out of the University of New Hampshire
. While attending North Reading High School, he was also a hockey player.
Doig was the ECAC

. He played in nine games for the Detroit Lions in 1982 and in nine games in 1983. Steve had 17 solo tackles

by the New England Patriots in 1986 and played in five games, recorded 1 solo tackle and recovered a fumble
