Sumitra Singh

Sumitra Singh (born 1930) is a politician from the Indian state of Rajasthan
. She was the first woman speaker in Rajasthan's history. In 2003 she won the assembly election on a Bharatiya Janata Party
(BJP) ticket and was unanimously elected Speaker of the 12th Rajasthan Legislative Assembly which she held until January 2009. She is a senior Jat leader from the Jhunjhunu district
in Rajasthan

constituency.
She married Shri Nahar Singh, (Kadwasra gotra) of Patusahri village in the district of Jhunjhunu on 2 June, 1952 and is mother of three sons.

Birth and family
She was born in village of Kisari in Jhunjhunu district in the family of Shri Ladu Ram Choudhary on 3 May, 1930. She has an M.A. in Hindi Literature.She married Shri Nahar Singh, (Kadwasra gotra) of Patusahri village in the district of Jhunjhunu on 2 June, 1952 and is mother of three sons.
