was 12.7 per square mile (4.9/km²). There were 639 housing units at an average density of 17.9 per square mile (6.9/km²). The racial makeup of the township was 98.68% White, 0.44% Native American, and 0.88% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.88% of the population.
There were 217 households out of which 16.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.5% were married couples
living together, 5.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 37.8% were non-families. 31.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 14.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.09 and the average family size was 2.53.
In the township the population was spread out with 15.5% under the age of 18, 4.9% from 18 to 24, 22.3% from 25 to 44, 33.6% from 45 to 64, and 23.8% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 49 years. For every 100 females there were 99.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 102.6 males.
