The Town of Summit is on the western border of the county and is northeast of Oneonta

In the town the population was spread out with 22.8% under the age of 18, 5.3% from 18 to 24, 24.5% from 25 to 44, 31.7% from 45 to 64, and 15.8% who were 65 years of age or older.
