's Studio 8 is located within the food court. The main entrance and glass facade part of the mall have been recently renovated. The glass structure was extended, some new stores were built and some had their facades changed into old country brown wood and stone structures. The landscape has also changed new, "Summit Mall" signs have been put up, the parking lot has been redone, and a "pull around circle" with flowers have been installed. All stores remained open during construction. The mall was last renovated in 1996.

Jewel Mart was gone by 1991 and the top floor remaimed vacant until Dillard's moved their men's store and started a housewares department on the upper level in 1998. Rizzi's and Charlotte's West were both gone by 2004, giving Dillard's the opportunity to renovate both floors as a Dillard's Women's store. - Like most malls, Summit Mall used to include a small movie theater.
