Suomenmaa is a party newspaper published four days a week from Tuesday to Friday. It was established in 1908 as Maakansa in Viipuri to support the Agrarian League. Later the editors moved from Viipuri to Helsinki
and Oulu
. When Agrarian League changed its name to Center Party
in 1965 during Johannes Virolainen
's chairmanship also Maakansa changed its name.
According to official figures Suomenmaa's distribution was 10 077 pieces. In January 2010 a new monthly delivered to the subscribers Sentteri was published first time. It is distributed 60 000 pieces. The territorial Suomenmaa was published five times a week in the Northern Bothnia to the end of 2009.
