The weekly newspaper reports on local issues and achievements and provides a section on properties for sale in the area. The paper also includes a 16-page leisure guide.
In 2004, the Sutton Coldfield Observer launched the Great Midlands Fun Run
, which raised £82,000 for local charities. The same event in 2005 proved to be more successful with 3,650 runners, more than the previous year.
The newspaper is delivered to 57,000 homes (approximately) and is owned by the Daily Mail and General Trust
