The Swedish Publishing Award is an annual award
for newspapers

and other printed products. The award has been conferred annually since 1990 by the journal
Populär Kommunikation (Popular Communications) in a number of categories of printed communication. The award is considered Sweden's
most comprehensive graphic communications award.
Any company
, organization

agency

or individual can register magazines, books, annual reports
and other printed products with the competition. The award jury
is made up of active and leading communication
experts, such as copywriters, researchers
, designers
, journalists
and editors
. The jury not only assesses design, but also give points to typography
, layout
, text content and reprographic
quality.
The jury first nominates three to five candidates in each category. The nominees are made public in September each year. The awards are handed out at a gala evening in the Stockholm Concert Hall
in November. The winners receive an award figurine
and a diploma. All nominees receive a diploma.
The jury also awards the Great Publishing Award to an outstanding nominee.
