The airline was established and started operations in 1971 by pilot Ariston Pessoa de Araujo. It was formerly Taxi Aéreo Fortaleza.Since September 2008 TAF does not operate domestic passenger flights and since April 2009 international passenger flights. It is concentrating its efforts on cargo and postal services.
