The Test of Spoken English (TSE) is the most widely used assessment of spoken English worldwide, measures the ability of nonnative speakers of English to communicate effectively. The test is used for employment, graduate assistantships, licensure, and certification purposes.
Academic institutions, corporations, government agencies, health care systems, and other organizations used to use the TSE score to guide their decisions regarding graduate assistantships in teaching and research, employment, and licensing and certification.
According to Educational Testing Service, "The TSE® Test has been discontinued as of March 31, 2010. TSE scores are valid for two years from the test date. During that time, TSE scores can be sent to institutions and agencies." This test has been superseded by the TOEFL IBT speaking test.
