T is a service designation of the New York City Subway
. It is not currently in use, but was previously used for a service on the BMT West End Line
, originally BMT 3. It was discontinued in 1967, but a shuttle, designated TT, continued into 1968. This shuttle was replaced by the B, which in 2001 became the W. Since Sixth Avenue Express service was suspended, Broadway service replaced it. The W ran to Coney Island, and in 2004, was replaced by the D.
T is also the proposed future designation of service on the planned Second Avenue Subway
line. T trains would make stops along Second Avenue
from 125th Street
in Harlem, Manhattan to Hanover Square in the Financial District, Manhattan. This would be a fully local route. This route might also be expanded to the Bronx
and Brooklyn
