History

Taft opened in 1960.
Taft won the 1998 Los Angeles City 4A football championship.

Taft is also home to one of the top Boys' and Girls' Volleyball programs in the CIF Los Angeles City Section. Taft has appeared in a combined 18 Championship games. Boys' 1990, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2010. Girls' 1998, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2011
