in the US." Tainted Reality began as a college radio show on the station WIXQ, but now the organization has an internet radio website and organizes tours for Japanese bands.

Radio

The idea of Tainted Reality started on the college radio show Bad Transition, which was a heavy metal and Japanese rock show which broadcast on college radio 91.7 WIXQ FM. After disagreement on the direction of the show, Roger left and started a new show on the same station to focus on rock

 and gothic music. Tainted Reality first aired in September 2005 with co-host Charles Buckner, and occasional guest host Craig Keristia (who also replaced Roger on Bad Transitions). Eventually, Japanese rock became the main focus of the show.

In October 2006 the show switched over to an almost entirely request based format. They have an AOL Instant Messenger screen name so fans can chat with the DJ during the show.

In May 2007, Roger Schackelford left college radio and in June that same year, started his own internet radio station. The station was broadcast from the organization's website, and aired a variety of Japanese rock formatted shows, with Tainted Reality airing on Thursday nights. Tainted Reality has since spawned two spin-off shows. Tainted Reality Talk show, a talk show that covers a variety of topics, and TR: Incognito, a show dedicated to underground Japanese rock generally unknown by the American fan base.

As of April 2011, Tainted Reality has currently suspended its radio show indefinitely for multiple reasons.

Tour Organization

In May 2006 Tainted Reality formed partnership with the Japanese rock promotion company Jhouse Rock, to open a tour division dedicated to bringing Japanese rock bands to the United States. The first band they organized a tour for was Blood

 in August 2006.

Tainted Reality works closely with Japanese music labels Darkest Labyrinth and Starwave Records, both run by Kiwamu (of Blood and GPKism). Tainted Reality manages the US operations of Blood, Suicide Ali, The Candy Spooky Theater

, to name their most famous. They have also managed Luzmelt, lix, Seileen / DJ SiSeN, the Sound Bee HD, Takuya Angel, and many others. They have brought bands not only to go on tour, but to visit multiple anime conventions across the United States.

Roger convinced the band Blood

to allow him to shoot a music video for them. Footage was going to be taken on the band's Mexican tour, but fell through when Blood's guitarist, Kiwamu, fell ill the day of the shoot. Later Roger produced and directed the DVD on their Les Fleurs Du Mal album entitled "Darkest Labyrinth Vol. 1".

Also, Rose Noire, a band who had also been managed by the company while in America, has shot a video with Roger for their song, "Dual Evil" . The video also includes an appearance by Tainted Reality's secretary, Aimee.
