s and wanted to settle in the empire of Jodhpur State. They taken permission of the king Takhat Singh and told him their desire that they want to establish a village on king's name and want to settle there. They dug a well, but the water was not sweet. They found one already dug well nearby and taken permission to settle there. It is told that this well was dug by the sons of King Sagar, for whom his 60,000 sons dig everyday one well. The well is still used as drinking water for the town, which is called Pechka.
After there settlement also the Thakur was coming there, and one soldier of king Pir singh is killed there in struggle with Thakur. Pir Bavasi Majar is situated there now. In 1858 (Vikram Samvat 1914), Takhatgarh's Janma-Patrika prepared by Pandits and Pond, Cremation place, temples etc. established according to the Vastu
. So now the town is about 150 years old. Chauhata is also called as Jawahar Chauk, as in 1947 on the occasion of independence here Guard of Honour was given to the country by police. The old Police station was near to Jawahar Chauk only.
It is located near the Jalore
district border. It lies on Jalore-Sanderao
road (SH-16

Takhatgarh was considered as town in 1951, but in the 1961, as definition of the town is changed, so it is made again rural during 1961 to 1974. There are 20 wards for the municipality. Presently Takhatgarh has Indian National Congress

temple, Chondra Mataji temple, Mahalaxmi temple, Panchmukhi Hanuman temple, Gogaji Temple. On temple of Takhat Bihari Raj Thakurji's Pran Pratistha is happened on 29th April 2011. This temple is dedicated to the then king Takhat Singhji.
Like many innovators, he had worked on many ideas, not all of which were equally feasible or practical. Nonetheless, his life story needs to get included in the syllabus of primary education so that many more children can draw inspiration and embark upon similar innovative trails. Obviously, science and technology policy planners never cared to highlight the role of grassroots innovations. It is his destiny that now he has been forgotten.

There is one Govt High school, namely Sanghvi Keshari Senior Secondary School, having classes VI to XII, three Govt. upper primary schools and two Govt Girls Schools out of them one is up to Senior Secondary level. While in Private there are many primary and middle schools out of which Defence Public school, Abhay Nobles School, Tagore Public Secondary school, Sainik Children Academy, Saraswati Bal Vidya Mandir and Adarsh school are main. New Adarsh School is located at Adarsh Nagar in front of the bus stand. On the whole there are totally 22 schools in Takhatgarh. The present municipal administration is also trying to get a sanction for a government college in Takhatgarh.Sub-areas

Late Shri Poonamchand Lakhaji Mistry (श्री पूनमचन्द लखाजी मिस्त्री) born in 1914 in a poor family, was an outstanding innovator of his time. Poonamchand couldn’t continue his education after fifth standard because he had to assist his father in carpentry work. Shri P L Mistry has been awarded posthumously by Second National Grassroots Technological Innovation and Traditional Knowledge Awards - 2002 for his great inventions like Wise platform ticket machine, automatic air pump for bicycles and other innovations. The other innovations that he had developed and in most cases patented are: (a) improved tea coffee maker, (b) animal body weight drawn water lifting pump, (c) device for constant pressure of water in pipeline/tap, (d) improved machine for making chapatis/puris, (e) system for prevention of train collision and accident due to derailment and sabotaging, (f) improved churner, (g) small flour mill, (h) folding cradle, (i) cloth washing and drying machine, (j) folding swing bed, (k) automatic lighting and delighting kerosene lamp and (l) power generation from road traffic.Like many innovators, he had worked on many ideas, not all of which were equally feasible or practical.
