History
Tallapoosa was formed about 1901 by the junction of the St. Louis, Morehouse and Southern Railroad and the Clarkton Branch of the St. Louis, Kennett and Southern Railroad. Louis Houck was in charge of construction of both lines. The town was apparently named after TallapoosaTallapoosa, Georgia
