Plans for a domestic airport were rejected by the Indian government in 2003 for Talod. The government had stated "It would be a major user of space, create traffic on Talod's already congested transport roads, and would require major land changes which could effect the habitat around it. Also, Ahemadabad's airports are large and can handle the current capacity of planes, cargo, and passengers."
Talod also is a major bus hub, with Coach and Standard Class buses operating from and to Talod

Development
Talod has recently seen some high development, including a new building to head the Talod government. Some roads in Talod (espeacially northern Talod) have been paved. Many services are available in Talod, but running water is only available from 7 am-8 pm and 6-7 pm for all households in the central and southern district. Power outages are frequent from April to October, because of the rain. Mobile service is excellent on all of main Indian mobile networks. Talod has a variety of shops, and shows more progressing over the years. Talod also has its own police force, ambulance service, and emergency call center.Poverty
Although Talod has a higher income average than some parts of Gujarat, Talod has a slum district and a poverty problem. Many residents migrate from nearby villages for job opportunities. Talod has a lot of space, and a fresh water lake which attracts many poorer citizens for a free source of water, but the lake has had pollution problems in the past.Transportation
