Taman Johor Jaya is a housing and industrial estate situated in the northern outskirts of Johor Bahru
, the second largest city of Malaysia. With a population of 16,000 families, it is primarily residential, but it also has light industrial and commercial zones. Johor Jaya is administered by the Majlis Perbandaran Johor Bahru Tengah
(MPJBT) (Central Johor Bahru Municipal Council) on the side north of the Pasir Gudang Highway
and by Majlis Bandaraya Johor Bahru
(MBJB) (Johor Bahru City Council) south of the highway (Rosmerah area).
The main road, Jalan Johor Jaya, connects all phases except Rosmerah. Johor Jaya is accessible via bus service 9B, 18 and 225. The seven sections of Taman Johor Jaya were built in phases, starting in 1987: Anggerek - Dedap - Keembong - Seroja - Teratai - Bakawali - Rosmerah.
The central commercial area is in Jalan Dedap, and includes the locally popular Seasons cake shop and the Hong Kong Boy restaurant. There is also the popular Johor Jaya sports complex, bowling alley and several golf courses in the vicinity, including its own Daiman 18 Club.
A new food centre, Family Food Centre, was built in 2004 along Jalan Dedap 14. There are various type of common malay cuisine served in this food centre. Among others are Nasi Lemak, Nasi Ambang, Nasi Ajau, Nasi Campur and various types of noodle. A new neighbouring megamall, Jusco Tebrau City, was built in 2005 along Tebrau Highway. Other neighbouring hypermarkets include Giant in Plentong and Carrefour
along Tebrau Highway, just south of Jusco. The new community mosque, Masjid At-Taqwa, which was built in 2009, is located along Jalan Dedap 10. Johor Jaya new police station is in Rosmerah. There is also a Hindu Temple located beside the police station.
