Tamaz Pertia
Encyclopedia
Tamaz Pertia is a former Georgia
n football midfielder, currently a manager with Olimps.
During his playing career, Pertia has played for FC Lokomotiv Minsk in the Belarusian Premier League
and many clubs from Georgia
, Moldova
and Latvia
.
In 2008 Pertia became the manager of Dinaburg Daugavpils - his previous club. In 2009 he was accused of match fixing and totalizator playing, so Latvian Football Federation
eliminated Dinaburg from Virsliga (later on this club was replaced by Daugava Daugavpils). Pertia himself was given life-long disqualification, that forbid him to play, manage or either take part in any of LFF
organised competitions.
In 2010 many fans of Daugava Daugavpils - the new made club - stated that they had seen Pertia in the stadium talking to the players, despite the given disqualification. Latvian Football Federation
kept quiet until 1 June 2010, when they caught Pertia in the stadium, talking to players in the changing-room. Pertia was given 100 lats penalty.
What seemed very strange, was that on 2 June 2010 - a day after this penalty - Pertia's disqualification was canceled and he became the manager of Daugava Daugavpils on the same day.
Pertia left FK Daugava Daugavpils
in July 2011, as the club's chairman changed and he was succeeded by Leonid Nazarenko
. In August 2011 he became the manager of JFK Olimps.
