this was barren land. it was when the mughal emperor farruksiar, asked RAJA SYED MOHAMMAD HAYAT, to make a civilisation on the bank of ghagra river in 1714 B.C. reference imperial gazette. the royal estate of tanda streches from the borders of old awadh to the borders of bihar. tanda preserves a remarkable history. it was when imperial army was going towards Delhi before the mutiny of 1857. tanda's then emperor RAJA HUSSAIN ALI with his brother ABBAS ALI stood against the British army and fought a fierce battle in which many of the estates soldiers died.
still RAJA KAZIM RAZA and his cousin brother RAJA JAFAR ABBAS owns 4 - 6 palaces all over the estate and many other properties.This place is connected with the Rail and Road with the rest of the country. It is to be noted that frequent bus service is not available and the nearest Railway Station is Akbarpur. At Tanda, the Jeep and Autos are the common transport facility available to go to Faizabad and Akbarpur, other than occasional bus services. At the same time Faizabad and Akbarpur is well connected with the rest of Uttar Pradesh and other parts of the country.

The nearest Air port is Babatpur near Varanasi and Amausi in

National Thermal Power Corporationa is based near Tanda. National Thermal Power Corporation project have a big colony. It has a hospital, three schools(Rajkiya Vidyut Parishad Intermediate collage,Bal Bharti Public School,Vivekananda Shishu Kunj(UP Board & CBSE Board)) and two clubs. At the back of the colony there is a very beautiful view of the river 'Sarayu'. It has many parks, all of them beautiful.
Jaypee cement factory is also based near the NTPC Plant. Jaypee has its own Township and Hospital/Dispensary. In the Hospital, they provide free treatment and medicines for the nearby villagers.
Beyond this there are many inter colleges like, Arya Kanya Inter College,Lalta prasad kanya inter college, Muslim Niswan Inter College, Fatima Girls Inter College, Adarsh janta Inter College, Qumi Inter College,Hobart Triloknath Inter College,Lalta prasad kanya inter college.
Here many other high schools and primary schools are situated.
