Tangutur or Tanguturu is a village and a Mandal
in Prakasam district
in the state of Andhra Pradesh
in India
. Tanguturu is bounded by Paleru River and Moosi River and it is census village having 20000 population.

From 1st Standard to 5th standard. Medium of instruction is Telugu. This is located in Pedda Bazaar (Also called as Vysya bazaar). In the same school campus one night study school for elders also available.
2. Government High School
From 6th to 10th standard. Medium of Instruction is Telugu. Have good playground and good buildings. Located near the railway station and near to the Poleramma Temple pond (cheruvu).
3. Government Junior College
For Intermediate Education. Groups are MPC,BiPC,CEC and HEC. Both Junior college and secondary school are located in adjacent campuses.
There are some private schools including Little star public school , Sarath Satavahana vidya samsta and Roots techno school etc..
Major temples are Shivalayam, Vishnalayam (Chennakesavalayam), Poleramma Talli, Ramalayam-1, Ramalayam-2 and Ayyappa Temple. Shivalayam and Vishnalayam are old temples with good sculpture work and also have chariots. These chariots were used during procession times some years back but now abandoned.
Indian famous temple named shivalayam is also located in tangutur near NH 5 which contains 1116 shiva lingas arranged on the floor.The shape looks like a big shiva lingam if you watch it from arieal view.
The Famous Goddes Valluramma Temple is about 8 km from Tanguturu.
International Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM) was constructed in 2008 by Dr. Shekhar Annambhotla, MD (Ayu), presently settled in USA. In 2008 Dr. Jeffrey Meyers, MD from USA inaugurated the IIIM. Dr. Shekhar provides free medical services for poor in the Institute. In January 2010 Dr. Shekhar and team of doctors and students from USA and local medical doctors provided free medical camp and distribution of medicines provided to about 1500 patients.

How To Reach There
Tangutur(ట౦గుటూరు) is a Mandal/Village in Prakasam District of Andhra Pradesh. This is the second biggest mandal in Prakasam district after Naguluppalapadu. Tanguturu is loacated near the bay of bengal coast. Bay of Bengal is just 8 km from this village. Tangutur has both rail and road networks. NH5/GT8 (Kolkata-Visakhapatnam-Vijayawada-Ongole-Nellore-Chennai) passes through this village. This village is situated in between ongole and nellore. In the village of Jammulapalem a famous church established in 1979 by Bro. Jogi Moses. Now Assembly hall is in road side. Nearly 150 people gathering for worship every sunday.
