, Malaysia and located at 4° 19' 0" North dan 101° 4' 0" East. It's under the administration of West Kinta Town Council (Majlis Perbandaran Kinta Barat). Other nearby town is Kinta Valley, Kampung Baru Chendrong, Batu Gajah, Kampung Gajah, Teluk Intan, Tronoh, Tronoh Mines, Malim Nawar, Gopeng dan Kampar.

It was originally one of the major tin-mining towns in Malaysia around early 1900'.

In 1970 there are 5 (type number 1) tin dredging machine (also known as Kapal Korek in Malay) which size is humongous (the biggest size in the world) and many other smaller type of this machine scattered in Tanjung Tualang. It's normally own by a European company whilst a local mining company opted to use a "Palong" type of mining technology.

Right now this mining area is either converted to became a freshwater pond (known as Lombong in Malay) to breed freshwater prawn/fish or being turn into palm estate. Tanjung Tualang also have a vast area of rubber estate (either being own personally or by a large corporation).

It also host a "Underground Armament Testing Complex" for Malaysian Government under close monitoring by Ministry Of Defense. The actual site for this underground facilities is undisclosed but some clues were pointed out to a nearby area known as Changkat Tin. Access to this area is restricted.

Tanjung Tualang is also famous for its freshwater prawns which in turn giving the Tanjung Tualang a nickname (Freshwater Prawn Town).
