Influenced by Persian art, architecture and poetry, Hemami's multidisciplinary works explore the complex cultural politics of exile through personal and collective projects and installations. Born in Tehran, Iran, Hemami received her MFA from California College of the Arts
in 1991 and has exhibited regularly at national and international venues including at Intersection for the Arts, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts
