Theodore "Ted" Schwinden (August 31, 1925; Wolf Point, Montana
) served as the 19th Governor of Montana
from 1981 until 1989.
Schwinden was Lieutenant Governor under Thomas Judge and defeated his predecessor in the Democratic primary in 1980. He is a member of the United States Democratic Party.
His wife, former Montana First Lady Jean Schwinden, died from cancer
on March 24, 2007, aged 81.
