The population doubling time is about 20 years and the growth between 2001 and 2003 was at 10.14% It is located north of Arrecife on a main highway of LZ1 and south of Haría. The main industries are agriculture and tourism. The Atlantic Ocean
is to the northwest and east and the mountains are around the municipality.
