Terrence "Terry" McLarney is currently a Major in the Baltimore Police Department
's Homicide Unit. A native of the Washington, D.C.
suburbs, McLarney joined the Department in 1976 as a patrolman in the Central District. McLarney became a sergeant in the Department's Western District and then in the Homicide Unit where he has remained since. McLarney along with Roger Nolan
and Jay Landsman
was a Homicide sergeant under the command of Lieutenant Gary D'Addario
whose Homicide unit was featured in David Simon
's Homicide: A Year on the Killing Streets
book. McLarney has also appeared on the commentary describing the production of HBO's The Wire
