A black soldier in World War II England begins an affair with a white woman whose husband is an officer currently overseas in battle and in doubts of her relationship with him as she discovered he had been having an affair with his secretary. After the officer redeploys back to England, he accuses the American GI of raping his wife, leading to a court martial. She repeats the accusation in court, and the soldier makes an outburst warning her that he could hang for the charge. The American soldier is convicted, sentenced to death and hanged.
