The song was released as a double A with "Nipple to the Bottle", both songs taking first credit in various countries. The single edit of "The Apple Stretching" was rather uninspired - the album version, just faded out at 3:33 - and the result was total exclusion from the world's music charts.
"The Apple Stretching" was simultaneously released in a 12" version, clocking in at 8:40.
