. It began as a supplement in The Hoot, but became an independent newspaper by its second edition on January 27, 2006. The name "The Blowfish" comes from the band Hootie & the Blowfish

 is in session. The paper usually consists of four pages but can be up to eight pages for special editions. As The Blowfish is a humor newspaper, it contains completely fictitious articles and "no articles or quotes are truthful by any means".
