The album was set to be produced by the band's own guitarist Cole Martinez, with Jacob Hansen mixing it, but midway through the making of the album, the band switched duties to famed producer James Murphy (Death, Testament
) producing and mixing the album instead.
Three of the songs on the album: "Purity In Imperfection", "The Apex Doctrine" and "(n)Ether", were re-recorded from band's first EP The Collapse
which was released in 2009.
The first single from the album "The Apex Doctrine" was released along with a music video, on August 23, 2010. The song previously appeared on the band's debut EP The Collapse
and its music video was shot back in August 2009.
