The Deepings School is a co-educational secondary school on Park Road in Deeping St James
, near Peterborough

. The school was recently awarded the status of Enterprise Academy.
Recently, extra income has seen the implementation of a development programme for the school, with the building of a new Business and Enterprise block and the installation of a new staff room, along with new toilets. As of late 2010 a one storey building commenced construction at the front of the school, near the leisure centre car park, which will house a new school reception, sixth form facilities, and conference centre.
The school is particularly famed for its Sixth Form which is regarded as one of the best in the country for a comprehensive school. Ofsted inspections in 2010 rated the school 'outstanding'; the highest possible rating.

opened the buildings on 28 April 1999.
There exist a total of eight houses within the school, named after inspirational individuals from a range of different disciplines. Such names were originally decided upon as a collaboration between students and the school governors.
The eight houses include Brunel, Cavell, Eliot, King, Lennon, Newton, Radcliffe, and Tudor.
Throughout the year, a league table is recorded based upon a house points system, with house points being awarded for commendable achievement in both academic and non-academic pursuits. Competition between the houses is particularly notable during the annual school sports day.

. Since the removal of a compulsory language at GCSE level in 2004, uptake of a second language has decreased at level 2 stage. French is taken overall by more students than German. Spanish was previously taught in the school from about 2006 until 2010. The teaching of other languages is confined to after school and night classes.

Background
The school is attended by over 1,400 pupils aged 11–18, taught by over 80 teaching staff. It boasts a highly acclaimed sixth form for A-level studies, that recently performed very well in the school league tables.
